While driving in the mountains in search of snowy wonderlands to photograph, I ran across the now-open evacuation route for the constantly flooding Skokomish Valley and decided to take a look. I ran across a bridge leading over the river, and after enduring some chest-deep snow on the hike down, I marched knee-deep into this freezing river to take the shot.
