Description As we climbed 3600 feet and 20 miles to Black & White Lakes, the smoke in the air from the eastern wildfires drifted toward us, painting the sunlight a dramatic shade of crimson. Combined with the fall colors of the highland scrub, the landscape became a living reflection of what the fires of the east must have looked like.
