My first photo from Kauai! This is along the Ka'Lauau trail that skirts the Na'Pali coast of Kauai's north shore. The north shore is VERY windy and as such the surf is powerful and the trees are permanently bent and tossed with gusts that a person can lean into and not fall over. This photo was taken as our group ascended the first half-mile of the trail on out way to Hanakopi'i Beach, one of the few sandy beaches on that part of the island.
